On August 16th, Equation Leopard held a brand and technology conference. At the beginning of the conference, BYD’s latest "DMO" super hybrid off-road platform was introduced, in which "O" stands for Dff-Road, indicating that the system was specially designed for off-road. Officials say that the emergence of DMO is the beginning of another revolution in the automobile industry, so let’s take a look at what highlights the DMO system has.
First, the world’s first vertical EHS electric hybrid system
The system is 100% independently developed by BYD, and the R&D team has successfully broken through the world problem of structural design, giving the vehicle more powerful pure electric power and off-road performance. The electro-soul system respectively includes a longitudinal high-power engine+off-road special rear drive assembly+off-road special rear drive assembly, as follows:
1. Industry-leading vertical high-power engine for off-road use.
Two kinds of engines with displacement of 1.5T and 2.0T are introduced respectively, in which the 1.5T engine has the maximum power of 143KW and the 2.0T engine has the maximum power of 180KW, and the thermal efficiency of the engines both exceeds 40%. With the support of the series-parallel structure, stable power generation can be realized without switching power generation and driving back and forth.
2. The first off-road special rear drive assembly.
The vehicle is equipped with an ultra-strong off-road electric four-wheel drive system, with a peak power of 285KW and a peak torque of 400 Nm, in which the low-speed off-road gear can achieve a maximum speed ratio of 21, and electronic differential system is integrated.
3. Off-road CTC battery pack
The vehicle is equipped with an integrated battery pack, which has a five-layer protection structure, and adopts "embracing" high-strength double-layer protection plate and reinforced frame beam. In order to make users feel more at ease to go off-road, the battery pack of the vehicle has a protection level 10 times higher than the industry standard, including 1200J impact capacity, ultra-high strength structural design and 38% torsional stiffness.
In addition, it also has the world’s leading direct cooling and direct heating technology, which supports active and passive temperature equalization and is suitable for extreme weather from MINUS 40 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius.
Second, the powerful electronic differential system
The vehicle is equipped with electronic differential system+intelligent middle lock. The official claims that DM-o system is "born with three locks", which has the characteristics of fast response, can quickly respond to locking and unlocking, and its performance subverts the frequent locking and unlocking of traditional mechanical locks.
Third, the ultimate fuel-saving performance
Under NEDC working condition, the fuel consumption is only 7.8L/100km, which can save more than 35% fuel consumption compared with mechanical off-road vehicles and solve the shortcoming of high fuel consumption of off-road vehicles.
Fourth, long endurance
The vehicle has a CLTC pure electric cruising range of 125KM and supports fast charging. It takes only 16 minutes to charge the battery of the vehicle from 30% to 80%. In the case of full oil and electricity, the vehicle has a comprehensive cruising range of over 1200 kilometers, and its cruising capacity is more than 50% stronger than that of mechanical off-road vehicles.
V. Strong motor driving ability
The recognition accuracy of the motor on the vehicle is 300 times higher than the wheel speed, the motor response is 100 times faster than the engine and the adjustment speed is 20 times faster. The car has a maximum power of over 500KW, a maximum horsepower of nearly 700 horsepower, and its power performance can be comparable to that of a 5.0T fuel engine. The acceleration time of the vehicle for 100 kilometers is only 4.8 seconds.
In addition, in EV pure electric mode, the car also has a maximum power of 370KW, which is equivalent to a 3.5T fuel engine.
Sixth, strong off-road ability
It can support sand, snow, climbing and other working conditions, among which the starting time in desert is only 300DM-o, which is 5 times larger than the starting time of the traditional mechanical off-road vehicle 1.5s; Snow and ice start 250ms, which is the start time of mechanical off-road vehicles; Facing the 45-degree slope, the start is also in one go, surpassing 99% mechanical cross-country.
Seven, support 16+N full scene
1. Daily driving:Comfortable mode, economic mode and sports mode;
2. Terrain crossing:Snow mode, sand mode, mud mode, mountain mode, rock mode, wading mode and intelligent mode;

Eight, the world’s first Ferrous lithium phosphate starting battery.
The battery has been used for 6 years, and it has the characteristics of durable and non-prone, and can be completely lead-free. It is equipped with an intelligent management system (independent BMS) of 12V battery, and the battery has the same life as the whole vehicle, so there is no need to break down and replace it.
Nine, outdoor energy supply and discharge protection
It supports 6KW AC vehicle (international AC port charging) to supply power to the vehicle and 20KW in situ, which can supply 10% power to the vehicle in 10 minutes at the earliest. In addition, it also supports 6KW external discharge, which can carry various electrical appliances such as projectors and electric ovens.
X. Strong off-road ability
Off-road development lasted for 4 years, covering over 30 off-road sites in China, including 318 Sichuan-Tibet Line, Wulanbuhe Desert, Nankun Mountain Off-road Park, Kumutage Desert, red river valley Proving Ground, yakeshi Off-road Snow Park, Chongqing Off-road Forest Park, Mohe Snow and Ice Proving Ground, Chengdu Off-road Camp, etc., covering 150 off-road conditions, with a cumulative test mileage of over 1 million kilometers.
XI. Yunnian -P Intelligent Hydraulic Body Control System
The adjustment stroke of the suspension reaches 200mm, no matter what the terrain is, wherever it goes, it is a "smooth road". The vehicle also has an ultra-high falling safety height of 1500mm, an extreme wading depth of 1000mm, and a preview recognition distance of 150M. The vehicle is equipped with chassis vibration isolation system, with a golden axle load ratio of 50:50 and a low center of mass design.
